The Right Response Unit (or RRU) is a specialized unit within the Division of Columbus Police (Columbus, OH). Call the non-emergency number for (614-645-4545) and select Option #3 to be connected to a social worker from the Dept. of Columbus Public Health who is embedded in the Emergency 911 Center. The social workers work with law enforcement and families during mental health and substance abuse crises where emergency/medical or law enforcement assistance is required. This effort is geared toward trying to ensure law enforcement and the affected families have special guidance tailored toward the best, least traumatic and invasive methods possible to approach mental health crises, even when law enforcement must be involved.

This new resource offers 24/7/365 walk-ins for anyone in need of immediate behavioral/mental and physical health needs (minor cuts, burns, injuries, etc.). The Mobile Response and Stabilization Services (MRSS) is a service offered to young people in Franklin County under 21, who are experiencing significant behavioral or emotional crises. Think Netcare CMT for kids, teens, and young adults. A licensed clinician and qualified peer support can be called to your home or another safe location to assist Franklin County's youth with suicidal, behavioral (substance abuse), and/or emotional crises. They typically try to aim for an arrival to anyone who requests services within 60 minutes of the requests.
